Beijing Tongzhou Beiyuan Park and Ride Mechanical Intelligent Parking Building Start Operation

The Tongzhou Beiyuan P+R(Park and Ride) parking building is located at the northwest corner of Beiyuan Subway Station on the Beijing Subway Batong Line. There were originally 147 ground parking spaces, but after nearly a year of construction, they were converted into a mechanical parking lot with a total of 299 parking spaces, including 231 mechanical parking spaces and 67 ground parking spaces.

Feature

1. Distribution of inbound and outbound inventory
In order to cater to the high traffic volume during the morning rush hour of the P+R parking lot, this mechanical three-dimensional garage has a total of 5 vehicle entrances and exits on the first floor, which can accommodate 5 vehicles entering and exiting at the same time. In order to organize the entry and exit of vehicles in an orderly manner and avoid confusion caused by traffic flow intersections, which may lead to a decrease in the overall operational efficiency of the garage, the project conducted a thorough and detailed analysis of the existing site and traffic flow during the design process, and ultimately adopted a method of separating the entry and exit of the garage. Each entrance and exit is equipped with two doors, the front door for vehicles to enter and the rear door for vehicles to exit, minimizing the waiting time for vehicle access.

2. Comb exchange technology
In order to improve the operational efficiency and reliability of the equipment, comb type exchange technology is adopted. This technology was born in the 1990s as a new product combining modern electrical technology and computer control technology. Comb type exchange achieves vehicle exchange between the storage and retrieval rooms, lifting platforms, and parking racks through the vertical lifting motion of the comb frame on the intelligent conveyor and the longitudinal and transverse motion of the conveyor. Compared with the platform handling, comb type exchange technology has the outstanding advantage of faster access and retrieval of vehicles. In addition, the system also utilizes an automatic centering mechanism to quickly and reliably transport vehicles while correcting the deviation of the vehicle’s parking position, further ensuring that the vehicle will not be scratched or even bumped due to tilting, effectively improving the safety factor.

3. Fast storage and retrieval speed
There are 6 horizontal moving trucks installed in the garage to meet the high load storage and retrieval needs, with an average storage and retrieval time of about 90 seconds.
